GKH®W offers a premier combination of core properties to withstand structural loads, damage tolerances, and surface functions in the case-hardened layer, which provides an exceptional solution for contact pressures and fatigue performance. GKH®W can also be used without nitriding.

Machinability
Sullivan Steel typically stocks GKH®W in the normalized and tempered condition, optimal for machinability and heat treatment uniformity. Exceptions may apply.
Common Applications
Gears, spindles, machine-tool fittings, crankshafts, camshafts, precision parts, aircraft parts, thrust rings, and bearing races (up to 400°C), components requiring special nitriding.
