Originally founded in 1980, Sullivan Steel is a niche specialty metals distributor serving highly specialized markets. Sullivan began as a business unit of Roller Bearing Company of America, which was owned by General Sullivan Group. We have our roots in bearing manufacturing but have since expanded to supply equally demanding markets. Our professionals have bearing experience. Sullivan Steel is still owned by General Sullivan Group, an industrial distribution holding company.

Experience
Throughout Sullivan Steel, there is a deep understanding of our customers’ needs, allowing us to view our customers’ perspectives, offer insight, and solve problems. Sullivan’s team has over 150 years of combined experience working for various bearing manufacturers and steel mills. Most Sullivan employees have service centers, specialty steel mill, military, or manufacturing experience similar to our customers.
Philosophy
Sullivan Steel is investing time and capital in materials to solve problems. Before 2010, Sullivan Steel stocked one grade – 52100. We have since added specialized materials to support customer requirements, and we continue to add grades with unique problem-solving properties. We are not afraid to ask the appropriate questions in order to suggest the best material solution for a customer. We are working in the most demanding applications that require attention to detail.
